Nine Month Stats

Amelia had her nine month well visit on Thursday the 19th with Dr. Sears, I know I'm a little behind!  She weights 20 lbs and 14 oz and is 28 1/4 inches long.  That puts her in the 90 percentile for weight and 85 percentile for height.  No shots this time!! Just a small finger prick to check her iron count.  Everything checked out perfectly and she's as healthy as can be.
Our next adventure is starting her on table foods to get her used to new textures!  We've tried a few things, like bananas, oatmeal and crackers.  But we're stepping it up and going to keep trying new stuff!  I went to Babies R Us last night because they had 3rd foods on sale, and I'm hoping that what I bought will get us through and then it will be all table food!  She's crawling, pulling up and trying to climb on anything and everything.  The past few days she's been pulling herself up at nap time and just standing there crying for me instead of napping.  I hate this, but I'm hoping it's just a phase.  She also 'crusing' in her crib.  She'll walk for end to end.  She says mama and talks and sings a lot.  One of my favorite times with her is at church during praise and worship and I'm singing and she starts singing too.  She waves bye-bye, occasionally and when she wants something she gets it!  She's very independent, already!!  She's so much fun, we love her more and more everyday, if that's possible.  She's a chunk and is wearing 6-12 or 9 month clothes, and 12 month PJ's and some 12-18 month shorts!  We also had our nine month photo shoot with Jennifer Hedrick.  Here are a few of my favorites.
Ok, so neither of them were happy, but how cute are Amelia and Eli here??
I've been a bad blogger, I'm totally going to do better.  Promise.  Have a good week!

Biker Chick

While Nathan and I were in St. Louis this weekend we picked up Amelia's bike trailer from REI.  It's so awesome.  I did MASSIVE amounts of research on these things, it's so crazy how many different bike trailer there are out there.  We wanted something roomy, yet not bulky, something that we could use for a while and still get a good return on our money if and when we decide to sale it, and most of all we wanted the safest thing for Amelia.  After much research we made a decision and purchased this bike trailer.  It seems like exactly what we were looking for.  We only had Amelia in it for a while this evening, but she seemed perfectly content and happy in it.  This particular trailer converts from a jogger to a stroller to a bike trailer (it even has ski attachments!).  I snapped a few pictures of Amelia in her new bike trailer.  The Reavis' stopped by to drop something off at the house and Geren decided that she needs a customized license plate that reads 2CUTE4U!!  I agree with him!
Daddy buckling her all in.
Trying out the jogging stroller attachment.
Bike attachment.
I'm pretty sure she enjoyed herself.

Seven Years

Nathan and I have been married seven years today!  If you count the time we dated prior to getting married we've been together for eleven years.  That sounds like a long time, but doesn't seem like it's been nearly that long.  I love him more and more everyday.  He truly is my best friend and the most wonderful husband, father and friend.  We went out to St. Louis this weekend and Amelia stayed the night with Grandma and Grandpa for the first time.  We enjoyed getting away, but we both really missed Amelia.  She did wonderfully!
Before going out to dinner at Charlie Gitto's.
In the car, self pic!
Amelia played on the swing while she was at Grandma and Grandpa
We had a good time, I'll be ready to do it again in another 7 years!  Just kidding. Maybe.

Laid Back Weekend

We didn't have any plans this weekend, it was a laid back, relaxing weekend.  Well as relaxing and laid back as it can be with a 8 month old!  Friday night Nathan and I did go on a date!  It was nice just to hang out together without the babe.  We started off with dinner, then headed to Bass Pro, and finally went to Orange Leaf to try out the frozen yogurt everyone has been talking about!  A quick stop at Wal-Mart on our way home to end the night.  It wasn't anything special, but it was a good time out with my hubs.
Saturday Amelia got to swing for the first time.  Grandma and Grandpa got a new swing set and Amelia got a baby swing.  She enjoyed swinging and I'm sure she'll be playing on this swing set for many years to come!
Holding on like a big girl!
Kylie enjoyed it too!
I love watching her try and do new things.  She's such a blessing in our lives.  Next weekend Nathan and I are headed to St. Louis for our anniversary and Amelia is sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpas.  I'm nervous.  Have a great week!

Amelia the Crawler

Amelia is officially crawling!  She's been trying to for the longest time, but as of last Wednesday she's a crawler!  I just love watching her crawl from place to place.  She's also loving this new found freedom to explore the house.  I have to keep telling myself to let her be and figure things out on her own, instead of running to help her every time I 'think' she 'needs' help!
Here's my cutie on Thursday crawling towards me.
And here she on Sunday, she discovered our air conditioner vents!
She figured out when she yelled down into them her voice echoed.
She obviously loved it!
