27 and 8 months

Friday was my 27th birthday, and Amelia turned 8 months old!  I've been thinking I was only 25 and going to turn 26, but Nathan had to burst my bubble and remind me that I was in fact turning 27.  Not sure where 26 went, I feel like I skipped it!  I guess that's what happens when you get older!  So, I'm 27 years old and I have a 8 month old daughter.  Time flies when your having fun!!!
Amelia and I at Bootlegger's for my birthday dinner!
My husband and in-law's where incredibly wonderful and got me this.
A new iPad!!!  I'm a brat and I know it, so it's all good! My mom also made me the BEST meal ever of pepper steak and got me a candle that smells wonderful!  All and all I had a perfect birthday.  I am blessed beyond imagine, have a family who I love very much and have a beautiful, healthy daughter.  Life is good.  Have a GREAT week!

My Day with Wyatt

Recently I entered an e-mail drawing for a chance to to able to purchase tickets to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play the Chicago Cubs.  Well I was SUPER excited when I got the e-mail saying I was able to purchase tickets to one of the games of the three game series against the Cubs, but the catch was that I had to purchase tickets to two more game in addition to the Cubs game.  So we ended up with Cardinals tickets to three games this season!  Well Nathan and I had been talking about selling vs. using the other tickets, and decided that one of us should take Wyatt to a game since we already had the tickets and he's a HUGE fan.  So Sunday bright and early Wyatt and I loaded up and headed to St. Louis.  Nathan and Amelia had a daddy/daughter day, with some grandma and grandpa time too!  Can I stop here and say that I have a wonderful husband who allows me to do fun stuff like this!!  At first I felt bad, and sort of selfish because I wanted to take Wyatt, but then I realized that Amelia will be with her DAD, who loves her just as much as I do and is very capable of taking care of her.  So back to my story.  Wyatt and I loaded up bright and early Sunday morning and head to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals play the Dodgers.  We had such a great time!  It rained on us the majority of the time on the way up there and Wyatt stressed about not getting to see the game, or it being on a rain delay.  I had to continually remind him it was still FOUR hours until game time.  It was still raining when we got to the Stadium, but it gave us time to do some shopping, exploring and eating before finding our seats and settling in for the game.  The rain cleared up before game time and it was a wonderful day, the weather was PREFECT!  The Cardinals ended up winning in the bottom of the 9th, with 2 outs, Matt Holliday hit a walk off single to right field scoring Yadi!  It was such as awesome game to see and I'm so glad that Wyatt got to be there with me to enjoy it!  He was super excited and talked about it all the way home, the whole 4 hours!!  We had a blast!

Wyatt got to run the bases after the game.  Here he is rounding second!

In Other News...

Amelia is officially a big girl!  She's now in her big girl car seat!  We made the switch Saturday the 3rd.  She's hasn't quite out grown her infant carrier, but she was getting pretty heavy to haul around in that thing, and now that she's able to sit up I can put her in the shopping carts at walmart and such.  She looks SO big her convertible car seat.
She was helping Dad figure it out!
Look how BIG I am!
We've also recently discovered that she likes a) pickles and b) likes frozen peaches!  Nathan and I went to McAlister's to eat the other day and Amelia kept reaching for our food, so Nathan gave her a taste of his pickle.  At first she made a horrible face, so he took it away and she got mad, so he gave it back to her.  She mulled/sucked on if for a while.  We tried it again the next night at home and apparently she thinks pickles are OK because she did the same thing the next night!
A couple of months ago I read that frozen fruit offered in these mesh feeders are good for teething babies.  Well I don't know if Amelia is in fact teeth or not, but she LOVES frozen peaches in her mesh feeder.  I gave one to her to see what she would do and she sucked on that things for 30 minutes!  I know she really does love it, because she only managed to throw it on the floor twice in that entire time frame, which is some sort of a record!  Usually we play the throw it/pick it up game repeatedly when she's in her highchair! I don't have a picture of her with the peaches, but here's one of her playing with (ok eating) a spoon!

4th of July

We didn't really have any HUGE plans for the 4th of July.  In fact Amelia didn't even see any fireworks!  Dark is WAY past her bedtime, and trying to keep her up would have been a disaster and I'm sure the loud booms would have scared her!  But she had to have some cute outfits for the holiday!  We had lunch with my Mom and dinner with my Dad on the 4th and dinner with Nathan's Mom and Dad on the 5th, so that meant 3 different outfits!  A girl can never have too many clothes, right?  Nathan and I did get to enjoy the city's firework display from our lawn chairs in our front yard with the monitor close by!  Hope everyone had a great holiday and celebrated the FREEDOM that we are so very blessed to have.

Brother Lee and Ms. Deb got Amelia this adorable outfit.  They are such a wonderful couple and we are blessed to have them leading our church.
Of course no outfit is complete without a headband!
Amelia and Eli chilling at Dad's.
See what happens when we try and keep her up a little passed for bedtime?  It was 7:30 when I took this picture!
My little firecracker!

The Farm

Saturday we took Amelia to Rutledge-Wilson Farm, it's an awesome farm like sitting that is ran by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.  We had NO clue it even existed until one of my friends told me about it. They have a variety of farm animals, a fishing pond and a playground.  My brother, Mandy and Aden came along for the fun!  Amelia had a good time, but of course anytime she's outside she has a good time!  Here are some pictures from our adventure!
Ready to see the animals.
She really wanted to touch that horse, but Daddy wasn't letting her!
We were on the playground equipment.
Nathan took this picture of her and I just LOVE it!!
Going down the slide with Mommy.

We had a good time and I'm sure we'll be going back again soon.  We also discovered that they have a walking/biking trial there, so we're going to go back and check it out.  Nathan is pretty sure it connects to Wilson's Creek and the Ozark Greenway Trial, which would be an excellent place to take Amelia on bike rides when we get her trailer!  I'll let you know!

Cardinals Game

This past weekend was the I-70 series, where the St. Louis Cardinals played the Kansas City Royals in Kansas City.  Nathan and I are Cardinals fans and our friends, Mike and Ashley, are Royals fans!  So on Sunday we all packed up and headed to the game!  Nathan and I have never been to Kauffman Stadium and I must say it is a beautiful stadium, very family friendly too!  I was afraid that we were going to fry in the sun, but our seats ended up being in the shade and we had some nice cloud cover and a wonderful breeze!  The game didn't go in our favor, but it was still a good time, with great friends!  The only thing that could have been better is a W!

Amelia stayed with Grandma and Papa, she was calling to check on us!
